Austin Fallah, a leading US-based Liberian financial expert and a supervisor at the Financial Analysis and Accounting Department of Hennepin County Government in Minnesota, has been inducted into the Government Financial Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
Fallah was inducted in July this year and immediately placed on the Special Reviewing Committee (SRC), a group that reviews financial reports of local and state governments, to ensure financial excellence. The SRC, a top-notch industry body, also makes recommendations to the national body, the GFOA, for the awarding of Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting programs.
In a letter dated August 4th, and sent to Fallah, the Executive Director of GFOA headquartered in Illinois, Mr. Stephen J. Gauthier, said the program has been “a major force in improving the quality of financial reporting for the state and local governments.
“The Certificate Program’s success is due, in large part, to the professionalism and dedication of individuals like you [Fallah], who have been willing to serve on the SRC reviewers’ committee”, the letter added.
Fallah, an exceptionally brilliant financial specialist, recently underwent an intensive training for Accounting and Reporting for Enterprise Funds-Accounting (Governmental) and Advanced Financial Reporting-Accounting (Government), receiving “Excellence and Professional Developments” certificates.
Asked to comment on his recent achievement, Fallah expressed humility, saying “I am honored to be recognized for doing my best to unleash my potentials at the highest professional level”.
Fallah holds an MBA Degree in Finance from St. Mary University in Minnesota, and currently pursues another graduate distinction in Software Systems at the prestigious University of St. Thomas, in Minnesota.
