The decision by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to urge Defense Minister Brownie Samukai to devise strategies to provide training opportunities for the deactivated soldiers should be lauded greatly. All Liberians should feel a sense of relief that this decision has been reached. However, readers should not mix apples and oranges. Deactivated soldiers are not the same as those dismissed recently for alleged insubordination and violations of Military Behavioral Codes.
