Encouraging news from Liberia but not from the Liberian press
Reading the Liberian press is analogous to waking up on Rush
Limbaugh and going to bed on Oreilly. The notion that Monrovia together with
its presidency is the sole lifeline for country appears to be the overwhelming
consensus in the press. What is the situation with the rest of Liberia? How are
ordinary people striving to put their lives and their communities back
together? Answers to these kinds of questions are less likely to come from the
Liberian press. Hence, it is not by accident this information on ordinary
Liberian women from Ganta appeared on the BBC News web site.
