well Mc, people always assume alot and from one great person, i learn the "meaning" of assume. make an ASS out of U and ME. so let them be with their assumption.

obama is not jesus but when i think about what is happening in the us now, given my limited understanding of their politics and electoral history, i wil share a story.

in 1990-91, charles taylor screamed for all to hear that over his dead body (i believe he included his mother's) that ecomog 'will never ever move into his territory'. they were mecenaries fighting on behalf of sawyer and would never enter 'greater liberia'. for some people, ecomog signified a means to leave npfl territory and the daily torture that occurred there-but the man had spoken and no one contradicted him.

i remember walking from phebe to cuttington campus, where i was displaced. i heard loud noise behind me and looked...behold-an ecomog convoy was driving by. i could not share my thots with anyone but as i walked, i talked to myself-loud enough for anyone passing by to hear it-he said they were not coming and here they are...now people will understand that taylor is not that powerful and snap out of their trance.

it is the same with obama-what seemed impossible for years is happening. identity and power are somewhat synonymous in american politics-whose face do u see when they talk about the most powerful job in the country before obama? he is a symbol of change, opportunities, posibilities.
