| PROXY BIDDING: A SINISTER TRAP LIBERIAN JOURNALISTS NEED TO AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE By: Emmanuel Dolo, Ph. D.Some would suggest that the standards of journalism in Liberia are slipping. I would argue that some journalists are allowing themselves to be entangled in an ongoing proxy war between the ruling regime and the opposition. True, there might be elements of the sliding quality of journalism that can be attributed to the notion that everyone who writes and article is a journalist and that journalism is not a profession with specific rudimentary competencies and requirements. It could also be that journalists work under poor conditions and salaries are in some instances not adequate living wages, leaving them open to manipulation and subservience to the interests of corrupt citizens and government officials.
