Chapter III Fundamental Right
Article 17 of the 1986 Liberian Constitution states that

"All persons, at all times, in an orderly and peaceable manner, shall have the right to assemble and consult upon the common good, to instruct their representatives, to petition the Government or other functionaries for the redress of grievances and to associate fully with others or refuse to associate in poli
tical parties, trade unions and other organizations."

The recent decision by the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's Justice Ministry to stop the CDC from meeting peacefully on November 7, 2012 is a total violation of their Fundamental right under the 1986 Liberian Constitution.

It is my hope that Liberians from all walks of life will advise this regime of Madame Sirleaf to bewild the idle of March. This was the same thing that happen April 14, 1979 which led to April 12, 1980.
We also remember when Madame Sirleaf peacefully demonstrated against Master Sergeant Samuel Kanyon Doe and was arrested. We all condemned the Government of Doe for violating her fundamental right.

The CDC has the constitutional right to assemble peacefully with the protection of the Justice Ministry in expressing their grievances as an opposition party in Liberia.
