| United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) Vacancy Announcement- Internal/External Vacancy#: UNMIL/DMS/CAS/HRMS-08-1790 Deadline: 10 November 2008 Post Title: Human Resource Clerk (Three positions) Level: GL-4 Organizational Unit: Human Resource Management Section Location: Monrovia Initial Appointment: Initial three (3) months subject to operational requirements and satisfactory performance

Description of Main Duties:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief National Staff Unit, the Human Resource Clerk will be responsible for the following:
Input Personal History Forms of short-listed candidates in Nucleus Maintain time and attendance records in IMIS and Matrix; update annual/sick leave balances in matrix and IMIS for staff under 100 and 300 series; update leave balances of staff in IMIS upon separation; Ensure timely submission of attendance records by attendance monitors; Review attendance sheets and prepare salary and hazard payment schedules for regular staff for payment by Finance; Review and verify receipts/documents for Medical Insurance Claims (MIP) and process for settlement by Finance; Process/calculate overtime and night differential hours for payment by Finance; Process contracts of Consultants and Individual Contractors in consultation with the Chief of Unit; Maintain databases for local consultants and individual contractors, process attendance and payment schedules. Process initial appointment, extensions, dependency allowance and separation Personnel Actions in IMIS in accordance with the staff rules and regulations; Assist in preparation and monitoring of recommendation for extensions of appointments/ assignments by ensuring that recommendations for extensions of appointments/assignments are submitted to Program Managers for action; Advise staff members regarding their entitlements and assist them in completing all necessary administrative forms; Maintain National staff personnel files along with recruitment case files, policy and reference files; Set up and maintain reference files/records (electronic and paper); Maintain & update database containing personnel information i.e. FPMS and ensure accuracy; Review for accuracy and compliance of reimbursement vouchers (F10 Claims) and ensure that relevant documentation are attached before forwarding for processing; Provide general support services; draft and/or process a variety of correspondence and other communications

Teamwork Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment and sensitivity and respect for diversity. Technological awareness: Good general computer skill and proficiency in the application of FPMS and IMIS.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Coursework/training in human resources management highly desirable. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of progressively relevant work experience in the field of human resources or administration.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Preference will be given to equally qualified women candidates.
