| | Former Residents and Friends of New KruTown Hold Big Reunion By: Staff Reporter During the Liberian civil-war, the Borough of New Kru Town, wedged outside Monrovia proper, and occupied by Prince Johnson’s INPFL, was a safe haven for thousands of Liberians and foreigners who sought frantically for refuge. New Kru Town served as a major transit point for Liberians of all persuasions. Many of us survived the war because of our belief in the popular Liberian saying, “I born here, I die here.” Now, like all other parts of Liberia, the Borough is left broken and abandoned. It is hungry for reconstruction, and it cries out loud for its sons, daughters, and friends abroad - especially in the Americas - to come to its aid. It has become necessary for us to pool our resources together and give back to a community that has given so generously to us. Full Story |
