Hut on fire Empty
PostSubject: Hut on fire   Hut on fire EmptySun May 04, 2008 11:54 pm

A friend of mine sent me this three years ago and I always read it when things aren't going the way I want it too.
HUT ON FIRE

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited
island. He prayed feverishly for GOD to rescue him, and every day he scanned
the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he
eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the
elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut
in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened, and
everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger.
"GOD, how could you do this to me?" he cried.

Early the next day he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was
approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was
here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal,"
they replied.

It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't
lose heart, because GOD is at work in our lives, even in the midst of
pain, and suffering. Remember that, the next time your little hut seems to be
burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the
grace of GOD.

The truth expressed here I know oh so well. But sometimes hearing it again can really help
you pick yourself up, brush youself off and start all over again.

Thanks Heru. I needed it. It was right on time this morning.
Thanks for following the Spirt to keep it, and share it.

Just What I needed

I had an intimate thought,
an unspoken prayer,
ever so graciously answered
the moment you chose to care.
You became the portal
through which I received
a message of validation
from the true and sovereign King.
How could you have known
what I needed that day;
If not for divine enlightenment
holding your notions sway?
It takes a special person
to be used that way.
It requires a heart that’s pure
as the dawning of a new day.
I thank you very much
for being who you are,
the conduit of a prayer
answered from afar.

I couldn't help but share that because we all go through trials and tribulations. When we do go through these things we think we're the only ones. Just wanted to let everyone know someone is there for you.
