Families of Philadelphia Fire Victims Appeal for Financial Assistance at Press Conference

Families of the Philadelphia fire victims have publicly appealed for financial assistance to bury their loved ones and help the survivors, and have already opened a memorial fund account at Wachovia Bank. The families said they have been forced to delay the burial for three weeks because of the lack of funds. At a news conference yesterday organized by a Pennsylvania based law firm Stark and Stark, the families’ spokesman, Mr. Garnett Gbamokollie, said “after the burial, there are huge medical and burial expenses to meet, lives have to be rebuilt, children have to be cared for, and the survivors have to be re-settled” adding, “our families are in deep pain and distress.”
