Corruption is a common phenomenon in many countries on the continent of Africa. This uncalled for act has gone on for many generations and yet it seems impossible to put an end to it. African governments have continuously operated in this manner and as a result have not been able to produce optimal service to a larger portion of its citizens except for a minority few based on ethnicity, class, income, and socio-economic status. Unfortunately, this ugly trend of leadership has only brewed societies of division, illiteracy, hardship, and under-development, particularly for nations in the West African sub-region. Consequently, it has led to countless civil unrests and scores of death on the continent.
