New Liberian Armed Police Told to Uphold IntL Human Rights Standards Monrovia, Liberia – Deputy UN Envoy, Mr. Jordan Ryan, joined Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to witness the graduation ceremony of 139 recruits of Liberia’s Emergency Response Unit (ERU). The unit is part of the Liberia National Police (LNP). The graduation was held at the LNP Training Academy in the Monrovia suburb of Paynesville where the ERU cadets, drawn from the regular LNP, underwent an eight-month intensive training. President Johnson Sirleaf urged the newly trained ERU police officers to carry out their duties in accordance with the law. Full Story
