|  "War Actors Hampering TRC Process", Says Mama Torma

Monrovia, July 28, 2008: The participation of several key war actors of the civil conflict in the present government is seriously hampering the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the head of the Traditional Women United for Peace in Liberia, Mama Torma has said. She said that key war personalities in the Executive and Legislative branches of government were posing impediments to the operations of the commission, a press release signed by Mambu James Kpargoi, Jr. Media & Information Officer, said. Mama Torma was speaking Monday at the opening of a three-day TRC Sensitization and Education Training for Female Traditional Leaders on Women and the TRC Process to boast women’s participation. The workshop is in preparation for the ensuing national thematic women’s hearing of the commission at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion in Monrovia.
