OLM Celebrates July 26 in Minnesota...Showing Raises Questions

The Organization of Liberians in Minnesota (OLM) celebrated Liberia’s 161st independence anniversary in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on Saturday July 26, 2008. The event, which featured Minnesota State’s representative Erik Paulsen as guest speaker, was characterized by speeches and social fellowship. The first phase of the event was highlighted by the guest speaker, who expressed his unqualified support for the Liberian community, recalling moments when he sponsored pieces of legislation that were centered on helping Liberians on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and being part of efforts to underscore the outstanding roles of Liberian immigrants in the United States.
